Researchers’ and funders' efforts to understand the sustainability of public health have recently increased dramatically, but there are still many obstacles standing in the way of our efforts to attain sustainable global health
Including but not limited to:
Inequality
It appears that many developing nations lack access to health systems as sophisticated and economical as those found in more developed or wealthy nations, which has led to numerous rising mortality rates.
Wars
We have all seen the detrimental effects of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on ourselves, our nations, and our health in particular. It has also hindered our development and success in reaching global health.
Climate crisis
According to the WHO, The climate crisis is a health crisis. An estimated 7 million people are killed annually by air pollution, while starvation and the spread of infectious illnesses like malaria are accelerated by climate change. More than one-fourth of fatalities from a heart attack, stroke, lung cancer, and chronic respiratory illness are brought on by the same pollutants that fuel global warming. To improve air quality and diminish the effects of climate change on our health, leaders in the public and commercial sectors must collaborate.
Ultimately, we hope that everyone can contribute to the sustainability of global health; however modest or small, it can at least save one person's life.
